How AI Search Actually Works

Is this just SEO with a different name?

It includes SEO and goes past it. Ranking well still matters and always will — it's one of the things AI reads when it decides who to name. What's changed is that Google is now one of several systems answering the question, each with its own crawler and its own index. So when someone asks "who's the best HVAC company near me that can come out tomorrow," they aren't getting ten links. They're getting a short answer with a few names in it. We make sure you're one of them.

How does AI decide who to recommend?

It looks at your website content, your reviews, your business listings across the web, your Google Business Profile, and how easily customers can reach you. Then it favors businesses whose information is consistent and verifiable everywhere it looks. Those are the four pillars, and we manage all of them.

Why isn't my business showing up in ChatGPT?

ChatGPT relies heavily on Bing's index and also runs its own crawler. If your site isn't indexed by Bing, or your robots.txt blocks OpenAI's crawler, you won't appear there regardless of how you rank on Google. It's one of the most common gaps we find.
