A client with Townsquare Interactive since 2012, Black Bear Winery just celebrated 15 years of business on October 18. To help spread the cheer, they’re hosting an open house on November 18 and 19 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Check out the event here, you won’t want to miss it! Stop by and mingle for a bit while you enjoy:

  • Two new wines! A mead wine fermented with honey and a tasty fruit wine.
  • A tour of the winery with owners and wine maker Mark and Sandy Stacey.
  • Delicious hors d’oeuvres.
  • Free tastings of their wines, meads and ciders.

Black Bear Winery got its start after owners Sandy and Mark Stacey branched out from just growing fruits to fermenting them. The name Black Bear Winery fit perfectly—black bears are known gatherers of fruit. The first drink they ever made was a hard cider and they recently created a new cider called Raspberry Jewel. Today, they buy local fruits for use in the fermenting process and allow everything to age for one year before serving. Their current lineup includes about 65 different wines, meads and ciders, and they always keep cider and beer on tap.

If cider and beer aren’t your style, peruse the 20 to 25 wines available at Black Bear Winery and indulge in a glass. Come on a Friday night to enjoy live music, or reserve a party room that seats up to 40 guests for a weekend get-together. You can even host your wedding on the winery grounds for truly unique nuptials.

Sandy and Mark have never met a stranger—they’re all about providing personal experiences you just won’t find at larger commercial wineries. When’s the last time you got to sit down and enjoy a conversation with the people who made and bottled the wines you’re tasting?

It has been a treat to see Black Bear Winery prosper and grow since signing on with us in 2012. The Staceys had someone maintaining their old website, but getting timely updates online proved to be a problem. Now, Sandy can update her website whenever she wants and knows she can count on Whitney, her digital marketing specialist, to help her out along the way.

Going to be in Chenango Forks, New York soon? Take a moment to stop by Black Bear Winery and treat yourself to homebrewed wines, meads and ciders made with fresh, local fruits. Your taste buds will thank you!
